Craigroyston Community High School

Craigroyston Community High School

School and home are where attitudes are formed. That’s why for Craigroyston Community High School, once branded ‘Scotland’s worst performing school’ we are helping raise pride and confidence among pupils, parents and the wider community. We have used podcasts, events and marketing promotions. We have showcased the school’s talents and developed an active partnership with top private school, St Georges School for Girls.

”Our children wear uniform, more have a spring in their step and are willing to step up to the mark in ways they would never have dreamed of before. People in and out of school have seen the talents of our children. Our partnership with St George’s is a revelation – encouraging their youngsters and ours to cross bridges….”
Margaret Russell, Head teacher.

We have also inspired new approaches in schools through our columns in Teaching Scotland magazine (reaching 65,000 teachers each quarter ). As a result, we have held ‘futures’ discussions with 320 schoolchildren in six different schools.
