An entrepreneur at a young age, Emma Ochia, Big Think Presenter and Coach, founded her own agency Fierce Arts as a platform for undiscovered talent – many of whom would never a get a chance to shine. Her workshops on voice, stage presence and inner creativity are sell-outs and as a performer she really does walk her talk – starring in Sister Act at Glasgow’s Kings Theatre last year and sharing a stage with the legendary Martha Reeves are just two highlights. Emma has a degree in Music Business and is about to embark on her Masters Degree at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Much of her inspiration comes from her own mother who had three jobs while she raised Emma. “What she taught me was that if I want anything in life I had to work hard and apply myself. I live my life by that philosophy.
A seasoned event organiser Emma believes that detail, the element of surprise and a terrific atmosphere are key. She is credited with bringing the Detroit vibe to Glasgow with a series of Motown shows – establishing herself in the process as one of Scotland’s most promising showbiz entrepreneurs and an electrifying performer in her own right. Like all Thinktastic people Emma’s route to where she is today was an unconventional one. A product of Airdrie, she worked in a succession of different jobs, narrowly missed out on a role in Dream Girls in London’s West End and performed with her own band The Downtown Cats.
All this before she set up in business and started bringing opportunities to a succession of aspiring actors, musicians, DJs and dancers. From staging to performing Emma knows better than most how to create an event that stays in the memory for all the right reasons. She is a great addition to our Big Think Team.
